Frequently Asked Questions

  • Mobile physical therapy brings the clinic to you. Instead of traveling to an office, Tim provides one-on-one, doctorate-level care in the comfort of your home, office, or gym. This allows for a more personalized treatment plan that is tailored to your specific living environment.

  • Tim provides mobile services across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. If you are unsure if you are within the service radius, please reach out via the contact form or call (401) 524-5404.

  • You don’t need much! A cleared area about the size of a yoga mat is usually sufficient. Tim brings all the necessary equipment, including a professional portable treatment table and any specialized tools needed for your session.

  • What does Tim specialize in? Tim has extensive experience in complex orthopedic and neurological conditions. His specialties include:

    • Manual Therapy & Body Alignment: Hands-on techniques to restore joint and muscle function.

    • Pain Management: Specialized care for Sciatica, Low Back Pain, SI Joint Dysfunction, and Neck Pain (Cervicalgia).

    • Vestibular & Balance: Treatment for Vertigo and Vestibular Rehabilitation.

    • Specialized Recovery: Post-Op Joint Replacement, Stroke Rehabilitation, and TMJ Disorders.

    • Home Accessibility Design: Expert advice on modifying your living space for safety and mobility.

  • In many cases, no. Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut allow for "Direct Access," meaning you can be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist without a formal referral from a physician. (Note: Some insurance policies may still require one for reimbursement; we can discuss this during your initial call).

  • How do I book my first appointment? You can request an appointment directly through the Contact Form (https://timhaitz.com/) on this website, or by calling/texting (401) 524-5404.

  • The first visit is a comprehensive evaluation. Tim will review your medical history, assess your movement and pain levels, and discuss your personal goals. From there, he will develop a customized treatment plan and perform your first treatment session.

  • Standard sessions typically last 60 minutes. Unlike a busy clinic where a therapist might see 3 or 4 people at once, your entire session with Tim is 100% one-on-one.

  • Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move easily and gives Tim access to the area being treated (e.g., shorts for a knee injury or a tank top for a shoulder issue).
